Natural cork is obtained from cork oaks that commonly grow on the coasts of Portugal, France, Italy and Spain. The bark of the tree is torn off the trunk by means of horizontal and vertical cuts, but without causing any damage to the plant. Initially, this hard material, after drying, cleaning from vegetation debris and treating with high temperature, becomes soft and elastic. As such, it is waiting for distribution.
The material in question is very functional, especially in rooms where we want to maintain the right temperature. It acts as a heat insulator, because it is distinguished by a low heat conduction coefficient. The lower this value, the less heat we lose. A cork underlay can be installed under panels, parquet, tiles and even marble. |
